Currently looking for an HSE Advisor to join an organisation excelling in delivering advanced electrical and mechanical engineering projects. The unique structure of this organisation allows us to handle both large and small projects, whether standalone or as part of a broader M&E contracting framework. With a professional and innovative approach, we lead the electrical contracting market, providing comprehensive electrical compliance services to ensure the safety and efficiency of our clients' electrical systems.
What will you be doing in this role?
You will be working on a prestigious LV/EHV contract for a DNO within the Wessex regions, the project consists of a full turnkey solution for design and build covering Reactive and Planned activities inclusive of design, planning, excavations, jointing and reinstatement. You will be involved in assisting our client with all Faults and New connections up to 33Kv therefore a dedicated Safety, Health and Environment Advisor is now needed.
In a typical day, you could expect to be;
Monitoring HSE performance at Regional and Depot level. Reporting to Operational Management on good performance / best practice as well as deficiencies and areas of weakness identified.
Provision of key support with regards to the development and implementation of improvement actions, initiatives, and plans.
Assisting in the management of the company's environmental responsibilities in compliance with environmental requirements.
Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and sharing lessons learned.
Reviewing documentation for appropriate health & safety content (RAMS, CPPs etc).
Visiting sites in the South East/East Anglia region, advising site management on day-to-day health & safety matters.
Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety Legislation/CDM Regs/Client's standards.
Promoting and encouraging best practice.
Delivering toolbox talks on health, safety and wellbeing themes.
Health and wellbeing promotional campaigns. What do I need to be successful in the role?
Passionate about the Health & Safety Profession
Experience, knowledge and understanding of the application of HSE management principles and best practice within an operational environment.
Demonstrable experience of engaging effectively with stakeholders in HSE matters and requirements.
Experience of developing and improving processes, and driving HSE performance
Ideally come from a Construction, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or a DNO background.
Willingness to challenge unsatisfactory conditions or breaches.
Excellent IT skills with experience in using Teams, Excel and Databases.
You will have a professional approach, be self-organised and motivated to positively influence stakeholders. Some 'nice to haves' are:
Associate / Tech / Grad Member of IOSH and IEMA membership This is contract role with minimum 6 month duration.and/or the opportunity to join on a permanent basis
