Job Title: Digital Bookkeeper Location: Bury St Edmunds Job Type: Full-Time, Flexitime Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum Berry Recruitment are looking for a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Digital Bookkeeper to support a well established and busy business within Bury St Edmunds. This role includes supporting clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, whilst also helping them transition to a new digital platform that simplifies receipt and expense tracking. You'll play a key part in introducing and supporting clients with a mobile app that allows them to upload receipts by simply snapping a photo, making record-keeping faster and easier. Key Responsibilities: Introduce and onboard clients to a new digital receipt upload app. Provide training and ongoing support for clients using the app. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping duties including: Processing and categorising receipts and invoices Bank reconciliations VAT returns and expense tracking Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records Liaise with clients regularly to ensure records are complete and accurate. Assist with month-end and year-end reporting tasks. Work closely with accountants and other finance professionals to ensure smooth handovers and compliance. Requirements: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role. Strong understanding of digital bookkeeping tools and cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage). Confident introducing technology and apps to clients, with a clear and supportive communication style. Good working knowledge of general bookkeeping processes and VAT. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills. AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
