As the Engineering Lead reporting to the Heads of Site Operations for our Coalville and Redditch locations, you'll drive the engineering function with a focus on maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Leading a small team across both sites, you'll collaborate closely with key business partners to advance the Continuous Improvement (CI) agenda and support the SOFINA Engineering goals. Salary Range : £60,000 - £65,000 per year Ensure Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, hygiene, and food safety policies at Coalville. Maintain Standards: Follow BRC and external standards; comply with CCPs in the site HACCP plan. Leadership Role: Actively contribute as a senior leadership team member, guiding the business towards future success. Team Safety: Oversee health, safety, and environmental protocols for your team, contractors, and controlled work areas. Optimize Maintenance: Prioritize day-to-day machinery and equipment maintenance to keep production running smoothly. Site Integrity: Maintain the site’s infrastructure, including buildings and clear areas. Manage Projects: Lead capital projects from design through to commissioning, enhancing plant and equipment effectiveness. Control Costs: Monitor engineering costs for machinery, rentals, and labor to stay within budget and ensure value without compromising quality. Utilities Management: Oversee utilities usage (water, gas, electricity, steam, effluent) to maximize cost-effectiveness while maintaining production. Compliance: Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Staff Development: Supervise, train, and develop engineering staff to support their growth and the company’s future needs. Strategic Planning: Develop and manage an engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with company goals. Coordinate Maintenance: Work with production and hygiene teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption. Contractor Oversight: Approve and oversee contractor work. Support Operations: Assist the Head of Operations with related duties as needed. Solid experience of working in an FMCG food environment (ideally within high care). Solid and demonstrable engineering management experience of sizeable teams. HNC/HND Qualified Demonstrable experience of developing positive and innovative team environments. Strong ability to proactively plan and prioritise. Willingness to challenge the status quo in order to achieve a culture dedicated to continuous improvement and best practice.
