This role is based at a Residential School for Children & Younger Adults with ASC/SEMH needs aged 5-18 years of age.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery KS1 Curriculum to Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 for up to 8 Pupils.
Deliver High-Quality Education to primary school children with SEMH or Autism.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum design, ensuring it meets students' educational, physical, and social needs.
Collaborative Teaching: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance the learning environment.
Plan and Monitor: Use short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver the curriculum and set, monitor, and review personalized targets for each student.
Participate in Reviews: Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews.
Engage and Challenge: Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
Budget Management: Oversee and manage a delegated budget as needed.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or ASC within a mainstream or specialist school.
Ability to teach Key Stage 1 To Key Stage 2 Level.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Effective planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing skills for student progress.
Proficiency in IT and its role in supporting learning.
Ability to remain calm and reflective in challenging situations.
Proven organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
