The role focuses on building a trusting and long-term connection with a neurodivergent learner, creating a supportive environment where interests and strengths are nurtured without pressure from traditional academic structures. Key Responsibilities: Engage in and be willing to learn about computer games such as Minecraft, Amazing Frog, Goat Simulator, and Among Us. Support and encourage creative digital skills, including Photoshop, video editing, and 3D modelling, fostering enthusiasm for projects such as digital collages and video creation. Explore themes of interest, including macabre and extra-terrestrial content (Trevor Henderson, Halloween, etc.), through discussions and activities. Share an enthusiasm for dogs and dog-related content, assisting with filming and video projects featuring a pet dog. Prioritise relationship-building, focusing on trust, comfort, and engagement over academic or target-driven learning. Provide a safe, understanding, and pressure-free environment, supporting a learner with ASD, ADHD, and a PDA profile. Ideal Candidate: Passionate about gaming and creative digital media. Patient, adaptable, and willing to build a trusting relationship over time. Comfortable with unconventional and macabre themes. Able to provide a supportive and pressure-free learning environment. Experienced in working with neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with PDA profiles, or willing to learn. Understanding of the impact of previous negative experiences with traditional education and the importance of a relationship-based approach. This is a long-term role focused on creating a safe and engaging space for the learner to explore interests and social interactions without the pressures of conventional education.
