Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant Location: Newport Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:40 AM – 3:40 PM Pay: Starting at £12.90 per hour Start Date: November 2024 About the Role: Teaching Personnel is excited to recruit a dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant for a partnership school in Newport, specifically within their LRB unit. You will support a small class of 10 students, all of whom have severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and varying behavioral needs. We are looking for a resilient, patient, and compassionate individual to help create a nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with teachers and fellow assistants to support students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth. Build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and support. Adapt to the dynamic classroom environment and handle challenging behaviors with strength and empathy. Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and create a safe, caring space for all pupils. What We’re Looking For: Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). A Child Only DBS certificate registered on the Update System. Two professional references covering the last 24 months. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a plus, but we also encourage applicants with personal experience or a strong desire to develop relevant skills.
