Our client, a leading procurement consultancy, is looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to support major engineering capital projects across the chemical, oil and gas, energy, and pharmaceutical sectors on an initial 6-month contract. The Role – Project Quantity Surveyor As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing post-contract commercial management and procurement support across major capital projects. This is a full-time role, with 3 days per week spent on-site in Teesside and the remaining time working remotely or from our client’s offices in Newton Aycliffe. You will be responsible for managing cost control, subcontractor payments, and contract variations while ensuring commercial best practices are upheld. Key responsibilities: Project Quantity Surveyor support on engineering capital projects Procurement of major subcontract packages – including civil works, mechanical & electrical installations Post-contract commercial management – cost control, subcontractor payments, and reporting Managing NEC4 / IChemE contracts, including negotiations and contract administration Monthly cost forecasting and project financial reporting Ideal Candidate – Project Quantity Surveyor: Significant experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor in engineering capital projects Strong commercial and contractual management skills Experience with procurement, cost control, and contract administration Working knowledge of NEC4 and IChemE contracts Must be based in Teesside, County Durham, or willing to work on-site 3 days per week This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to secure a 6-month contract with a highly regarded consultancy, offering exposure to some of the UK’s most complex and high-value capital projects
