Mechanical Supervisor (Piping) – Newport – Data Centre We are currently partnering with a bespoke Fire, Security and IT Solutions design, installation and support provider operation on Major Construction and Mission Critical projects across Europe. Due to continued success, they are seeking a Mechanical Piping Supervisor to join them on a Data Centre Project in Newport. Responsibilities Overseeing Piping Installation: The supervisor ensures that all mechanical and piping systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression) are installed according to project specifications, industry codes, and standards. This includes coordinating the work of piping crews and contractors to ensure schedules are met. Quality Control and Inspection: They conduct regular inspections to ensure that piping installations meet quality standards. This includes checking for leaks, ensuring proper alignment, and verifying that materials used are of the required standard. Safety Compliance: The supervisor ensures that all work is performed in adherence to safety regulations and guidelines. They are responsible for conducting safety briefings, ensuring personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn, and addressing any potential hazards in the work environment. Coordination with Other Trades: In a data centre construction project, multiple trades (electrical, structural, etc.) often need to work in parallel. The supervisor coordinates with these teams to prevent scheduling conflicts, ensure proper space for pipes and ducts, and resolve any potential conflicts between different systems. Project Progress Monitoring and Reporting: They track the progress of mechanical piping installations, provide updates to the project manager, and ensure the work stays on schedule. They may also be involved in managing resources, labor, and material procurement to avoid delays. Requirements Must have Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent trades background Must have 3 years of experience in a similar role Data Centre experience advantageous Benefits £60,000-£70,000 Benefits
