Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

As the Site Security Manager, you will be joining a team of professionals responsible for oversight and compliance across the site in a number of areas.
You'll be someone who can work with the NRS security team to provide effective and innovative solutions to a changing security landscape, whilst keeping Berkeley Site safe and compliant.”
Key Deliverables
* As an effective Manager/Team Leader, the post holder will be responsible for people management, performance management, control and supervision, communications, resource management and management of systems and processes.
* Manage the delivery of the security Scope of Work.
* Develop, obtain approval and maintain the site’s Site Security Plan (SSP) and the Security Contingency Plan (SCP).
* Ensure that Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQEP) people are available to meet the required normal security and emergency response capabilities.
* Maintain and periodically review security procedures and instructions to ensure the management of security, technical standards, site security plans and instructions, and security contingency plans are current and in accordance with Company procedures, and the requirements of UK legislation and regulatory bodies.
* Plan and co-ordinate exercises to test and assess the effectiveness of these arrangements.
* Act for the EHSS&Q Manager / Head of Security as the primary point of contact for ONR-CNSS ensuring that actions resulting from their inspections are undertaken, completed and communicated to the regulator in accordance with specified timelines.
* Liaise with appropriate external authorities / bodies such as Police and Fire Service on security or emergency matters as the Site Security Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of working within security in a similarly regulated industry with the ability to critically evaluate, improve and assure arrangements at the site - desirable.
* Detailed knowledge of security regulations and procedures - essential.
* Relevant experience in security related roles - essential.
* Educated to NQF level 6 / NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) (e.g. Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) Level 6 Accredited Diploma) - essential.
* Ideally, leadership/management experience - desirable.
* Excellent customer care and communication skills with the ability to build long-term relationships, ensuring that a high level of service is delivered - desirable.
* Experience in dealing with HSE/ONR and/or EA / SEPA or ONR-CNSS - desirable. #INDOR

* The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year), and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
