Main duties of the job
The Nutrition and Dietetic service is split into specialityteams; secondary care, bariatrics, primary care, adult and paediatric diabetes,home enteral feeding, and paediatrics.We have 8 Band 5 Dietitians, 32 Band 6 Dietitians and 9 Band 7Dietitians. We are supported by Dieteticassistants and Central Administration.
Our service is basedon four sites at Darlington Memorial Hospital, University Hospital NorthDurham, Bishop Auckland Hospital and Shotley Bridge Hospital.
This team provides cover to the general adultpopulation within county Durham and Darlington and covers nursing home visits,domiciliary home visits, community training sessions, community hospitals andGP and general outpatient clinic sessions. This post will be based at BishopAuckland Hospital but post holders may be required to work county wide.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
Thepost holder will be responsible for a their own caseload referred to theservice by community or secondary care professionals. Patients will be seen individually, in groupsor with carers in a variety of settings including hospital wards, outpatientclinics, and telephone clinics. The post holder will work closely with otherCommunity Dietitians and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
