Job summary We now have a vacancy for a Storeperson to work in the Catering Department at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury. You will be responsible for all aspects of the receipt and distribution of provisions for the Catering Department and retail outlets. You will keep all storerooms and fridges clean and tidy in accordance to Food Safety and Allergen regulations, and carry out any other associated duties. You will work to a 'can do ' approach ensuring every effort has been made to meet special diets and requests ensuring an excellent front line customer care service, take part in regular meetings looking and reviewing quality standards and improvements with the aim of a 100% visitor/staff/patient satisfaction. You will inform the relevant people of product changes, ensuring all deliveries are in accordance with purchase orders, communicating irregularities with relevant people. You will deal with all allergen enquires made by catering staff, nursing staff, patients, customers to the restaurant and any other external contacts Main duties of the job The receipt of dry and perishable products. Carry out stock counts on a monthly basis. The maintenance of records by use of manual and computerised methods. Duties will include lifting, carrying, bending, walking and the use of stepladders Distribution of products within the catering department, wards and departments Will be expected to clean the area and equipment associated with the duties performed. Observe and maintain all necessary 'due diligence' records as required by HACCP and the Trusts Food Safety Codes of Practise check that all food received is in accordance with the quality and quantity ordered, adopting strict control principles Work in a clean and tidy manner Plan and manage own work load. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times, adhering to the rules and regulations as laid out in the Food Hygiene Codes of Practice. Ensure the correct procedure is in followed in the safe use of all equipment, including dangerous equipment Provide cover in all areas of the Catering Department and perform any other duties commensurate with the grade for the efficient running of the department.
