The client is an AJ100 London design studio looking to appoint an associate interior architect with experience in hotel, F+B and creative UK projects that have a. design flair. They are 40 employees in London split between architecture and interior design - projects focus on commercial mixed use, hospitality, luxury residential in interior design & architecture.
The Associate role entails leading a major hotel and hospitality projects in the UK. The responsibilities include overseeing the projects, leading the design, providing creative direction, and client and consultant interaction. You must have UK project experience and either be a conceptual creative thinker or find your strength is in the delivery stages of these projects. You must have the ability to lead a design team and manage consultants.
Design:
The Associate is expected to have great design abilities and a portfolio to demonstrate this. The role will remain hands on designing and drawing, suiting creatives who want to remain close to projects. The client is looking for rounded knowledge of FF+E, interior design and architecture, be up to date with current trends and be a visionary design lead. Those who are able inspire, influence clients and encourage their teams enjoying a collaborative and supportive design process would fit this role. The studio has a flat hierarchy and freedom in design, meaning there is no house style.
Leadership and Management:
The Associate will lead and manage a team - mentor, guide and nurture a happy environment for creativity. The studio is looking for good communicators who are able to create a safe environment where design can be critiqued. Demonstrable experience should include at least 8-10 years of demonstrable experience in hospitality design. The client is looking for candidates with well-rounded profiles, experience in managing projects across all stages, a clear understanding of deliverables and financial accountability, as well as knowledge of building regulations, construction, and planning. Preferred characteristics include diligence, accuracy, organization, and comfort in dealing with clients and project managers. Only CVs with relevant UK experience in hospitality design will be considered for the project.
The team are in the studio 4-5 days per week, there is a 1 day wfh policy. The practice has one the best benefits packages to support their employees.
