Purpose Contributes to the overall success of the Asset Servicing team within the GWO Middle Office in the UK & Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for supporting and providing accurate information to Global Prime Services in London and the Prime Services Support Team in Toronto. The incumbent is responsible for acting as the client liaison between Global Prime Services in London and the Prime Services Support team in Toronto. The incumbent is responsible for the processing of various clerical tasks and circulation of wide-ranging information for the benefit of Trading, Settlement and Collateral groups amongst others. Coverage of some supervisory/management task when necessary due to absence. What You'll Do: Primary Responsibilities: • Provide primary coverage of Mandatory & Voluntary Corporate Actions event processing. • Receive and validate information relating to Corporate Action announcements. • Reconcile books and records within multiple internal systems and depositories. • Monitor, calculate and process daily pay dates, and clear any post-pay date breaks. • Liaise with external SBL counterparties & internal Ops teams (Settlements, MO, Collateral) & trading desks on election & pay date processing to mitigate risk on all events. • Assist management, Front Office and Prime Services Support teams in London and Toronto to ensure that the operational efficiency. • Act as a resource on trader enquiries for the GPS Front Office, providing weekly upcoming dividend reports, ad-hoc research, and tax advice on positions. • Provide Customer Service/Support to London GPS Front Office, ensuring identification of position ownership on all Corporate Action event (Equities and Fixed Income) and issuance of event notices. Confirming 100% instruction on all positions following up with GPS Front Office and Prime Services Support Team Toronto on any uninstructed holdings. • Provide ongoing assistance to management, producing monthly statistics. • Facilitate any late deadline extensions on Voluntary Corporate actions for the Prime Services support team in Toronto or outside of their time zone. • Daily review of all cash & depot breaks ensuring all are investigated and narrated in line with reconciliation best practices. Secondary Responsibilities: • Provide secondary coverage of all Income (coupon) & redemption processing across BNSL & SIDAC • Monitor coupon/redemption payments and process necessary ledger postings/journals to client(s) & designated control account(s). Process external payments to clients/counterparties using required payments system (GDMS, CDS, DTC, BNP, HSBC, Citibank) What You'll Have: • Good knowledge of Equity & Fixed Income securities • Strong analytical skills • Fundamental awareness of market & settlement risk and risks associated with corporate actions. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively articulate. • Good knowledge of custodian swift advice and corporate action postings. Specifically, BNP, Euroclear (Easyway) & Citibank. • Comprehensive knowledge of Dividend / Interest and WHT as they relate to the processing of payments and the movement of securities in the European markets. • Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to read, analyze and interpret for a wide audience complex legal forms, documents, and materials. • Strong industry background and knowledge of security operations • Ability to manage caseload and respond to fluctuating volumes within tight timeframes and maintain a high degree of accuracy. • Good operating knowledge of the Gloss Broadridge system • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Outlook.
