Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for “make or buy” decisions and managing the end-to-end scoping, set up and implementation of relevant products/services essential to meeting key deliverables.
2. Connecting and liaising across all functions (Technical, Finance, Procurement, Planning, Customer Services & Logistics (PCSL), NPD, R&I, Market) will be key to ultimately assure seamless supply of innovation products.
3. Ensure the right people/functions are involved at the right time to make timely decisions and enable smooth implementation of Disruptive innovation with relevant 3rd party suppliers.
4. Take overall responsibility for the supply chain workstream, including management and coordination of the end-to-end implementation of 3rd party sourcing to the point of commercialisation and handing over to “business as usual” operations, including:
o Scoping: Determining sourcing decisions (make vs. buy), scanning for 3rd party capability and evaluating feasibility (financial and operational).
o Setting up for success: Defining quality standards, testing protocols and supplier audits required, establishing contracts (including supplier performance and quality KPIs/metrics), determining the right planning and logistics processes, and finalising commercialisation of product at the 3rd party.
o Works closely with other workstream leads and the project manager to ensure timelines are created and interdependencies captured.
o Representing supply chain at Steering meetings and other stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
5. Create a 3rd party roadmap that is aligned to Markets’ 5 year innovation strategy to enable proactive exploration of future capability needs/gaps vs. our existing Supply Chain footprint.
6. Establish great partnerships with R&I to identify trends in the innovation pipeline to enable proactive exploration of future capability needs/gaps vs our existing Supply Chain footprint.
7. Continue to build and develop our 3rd party network and knowledge by continuously looking outside and analysing industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify emerging opportunities.
8. Work with cross-functional and Market stakeholders as well as suppliers to reach best overall business solution to meet innovation requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. At least 3+ years of relevant operations/supply chain experience, within FMCG Supply Chain.
2. Experience with contract manufacturing suppliers.
3. Strong preference for international sourcing experience.
4. Proven track record in challenging the status quo & delivering results.
5. Experience of working with senior leadership teams and of working in, and influencing, global teams.
6. Experience of managing diverse and international teams.
7. Deep understanding of end-to-end sourcing processes in an international FMCG organisation.
8. Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
9. Ability to work in a fast changing environment & good at dealing with ambiguity.
10. Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
11. Excellent relationship building skills and proven stakeholder management skills.
12. A Business Partner approach to ways of working; finds mutual wins and has a strong growth mindset.
13. Highly resilient and embraces change and challenge, high levels of cultural awareness.
