What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualifications & Experience
• Educated to degree level or equivalent/Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or equivalent), or working towards completion, is required.
• Experience of working with young people in an educational or careers guidance setting.
• Knowledge of careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG).
• Experience of managing or organising events and employer engagement activities.
• Experience of working in a library or resource-based learning environment (desirable).
Skills & Abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• IT proficiency, including the ability to maintain records, produce reports, and use digital resources for careers guidance and library management.
• Ability to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment.
Knowledge & Understanding
• Understanding of the Gatsby Benchmarks for careers education.
• Awareness of safeguarding and child protection in an educational setting.
• Understanding of effective strategies to promote reading for pleasure and learning.
• Awareness of local and national labour market trends and post-16 pathways.
