Hays Senior Finance are proud to be working in partnership with the Gloucestershire Constabulary, supporting them with the recruitment of a Chief Accountant to join their organisation in Gloucester, working out of their HQ on a hybrid basis.
This role would be well suited to a first-time mover from practice looking for their first industry role or someone currently working within the Local Government.

If so, Gloucestershire Constabulary Finance Team are looking for a new Chief Accountant. Working within the team, this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Constabulary meets all its statutory financial responsibilities.
The core responsibilities of this interesting and varied role are:
1. Lead on development and co-ordination of the Financial Statements
2. Responsibility for statutory and non-statutory reporting
3. Responsibility for the systems of financial controls, driving standardisation and improvements
4. Lead in the production of the Capital Programme and the capital elements of the Medium Term Financial Plan
5. To provide an effective treasury management function
6. To develop, manage and motivate the Technical Team (5 FTE)
With a CCAB qualification, banks of technical experience, and with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, you will be the sort of person who works well to deadlines, and calmly takes challenges one step at a time to deliver solutions.
