Part time working may be accommodated, subject to review We have a number of new opportunities to join the Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) as a Research and Report Officer where you will work as part of a multi-agency working, managing risk, and safeguarding the most vulnerable members of our society. The Vulnerability Assessment Team provide a single point of contact for safeguarding concerns across York and North Yorkshire. The work of the team is critical in the multi-agency response to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse. The Research and Report Team work as part of the VAT and are responsible for responding to requests from partner agencies for Police information and compiling reports for multi-agency safeguarding meetings across the Force area. As a Research and Report Officer you will be responsible for the data mining of all police information systems, decision-making in relation to information sharing, as well as producing reports for key multi-agency meetings. Crucial to the role is the ability to understand and process information, in addition to providing essential support on key policing operations, such as searching computer databases. The nature of the work within the VAT is very sensitive and attention to detail is vital in all areas. Previous experience of working in an administrative role within a sensitive and confidential environment and/or understanding of managing police information would be desirable, however full training will be provided. Key responsibilities: Manage external enquiries from partner agencies for Police information and liaise with external agencies regarding information and meeting requests. Research current and historical Police databases and hard copy files and critically assess the risk the information indicates and share information with Partnership agencies in line with Management of Police Information (MOPI) guidelines, Data Protection principles and local Information Sharing Agreements. Collate relevant Police information and present accurately in reports and create and manage incidents for all reports created within the unit. H andle highly confidential, personal, and sensitive information in accordance with legal requirements and local protocols. Ensure all conferences are accurately inputted and all reports produced prior to conference. Link all nominals and addresses accurately on Niche and scan reports and external information onto Niche. Create and manage flags on the result of Child Protection Conferences, grading the relevant category and family members involved. Provide a full range of administrative and clerical support. Requirements: To be successful you will: Have demonstrable research skills including experience of collating, reviewing, and disseminating information from a range of source. Have demonstrable customer service, communication, time management and organisation skills. Be able to produce high standards of work to meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy. Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Be able to communicate and coordinate with external agencies. Be able to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative/unsupervised.
