We're looking on behalf of a manufacturing client for a Facilities Engineer to take responsibility for maintaining the electrical integrity of both industrial and domestic systems on site at Uddingston.
This role involves inspecting and testing all electrical equipment, as well as ensuring that the site’s electrical wiring is kept to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and improve electrical wiring systems throughout the site.
2. Lead equipment installations and manage electrical projects.
3. Maintain and update site schematics and circuit charts.
4. Assist in managing engineering stores by identifying necessary parts and raising requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment.
5. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards, aiming to exceed regulatory requirements.
6. Support shift maintenance engineers when needed.
7. Provide training and guidance to electrical engineer apprentices.
Candidate Profile:
1. Formal engineering qualification (City and Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent).
2. City & Guilds 2391 certificate (desirable but not essential).
3. Recognised apprenticeship in a related field.
4. A team player with a strong sense of responsibility and a positive "can-do" attitude.
5. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a factory environment.
6. Commitment to maintaining high engineering, safety, and hygiene standards.
7. Flexibility in working hours.
8. Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
Working Hours:
The role requires 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00, with some flexibility depending on business needs.
Salary: £37,440 + Overtime
