Overall Objective
The Engineered Wood Products Designer will work closely with Alsford colleagues and production, coordinating work while adhering to strict deadlines and keeping in regular contact with customers.
The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a busy environment, with the business undertaking all manufacturing and cutting on site. The candidate will liaise regularly with production to ensure deadlines are met and the process runs smoothly.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
The Engineered Wood Products Designer will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:
* Complete design work assigned by the design manager/supervisor
* Prepare designs and quotations for submission to customers
* Prepare schedules and cutting lists for manufacture
* Plan, set and prioritize objectives, reviewing progress to meet personal and organizational goals
* Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard
* Read and interpret architects' plans and sketches
* Ensure designs are accurate and conform to standards
* Aid in training new employees when required
* Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
* Perform any other reasonable duties within the scope of the job role
Education/Qualifications/Experience: Must have a good level of education e.g. relevant qualifications, City & Guilds, NVQ, and/or equivalent qualification as appropriate for the role.
Preferably 3 years’ experience in the industry of designed Engineered Wood products such as Ipro, JJI, Finnframe, GangNail, Mitek, Alpine, Wolf or similar.
