Pilot Plant Apprentice
Level 3 Apprentice
Based in Lifton, Devon.
Every day is different, and your main focus will be on helping us make safe and quality products for our consumers. You will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement in quality standards and processes, while completing the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
You will be a key member of the R&D team, which provides an innovative, technical-based service to the Desserts portfolio of products, enabling continued expansion, and improvements of existing products and processes. You will be responsible for supporting development and innovation programmes specific to brand growth and quality by conducting pilot plant trials in conjunction with the R&D teams to safely manufacture aseptic ready to eat desserts
The role will include completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship at Bridgewater & Taunton College
Throughout your apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to explore the following areas of the technical function:
1. Assist with the running and maintenance of the pilot plant ensuring GMP and H&S standards are adhered to.
2. Communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external teams.
3. Assist the site engineer with fault finding and routine maintenance tasks on key equipment.
4. Contribute to GMP audits and H&S risk assessments.
5. Identify areas for continuous improvement activities in conjunction with the Pilot Plant Manager.
6. Ensure all trial products meet the expectation of the customer.
7. Be a key member of the R&D Pilot Plant team to assist in the development of NPD & EPD.
8. Ensure the safety of self and others, food safety and challenge any safety issues.
9. To operate manual handling equipment.
10. Accurate data collation and record keeping, includes manual and electronic records.
11. To complete the L3 Technical Food Operator Apprenticeship Programme attending tutor assessments at site on a regular basis and maintaining a portfolio of evidence to the required standard
