About BRAC Global
Within the BRAC family of entities, BRAC Global, encompassing the BRAC Global Board and BRAC Global secretariat team led by the BRAC Global Executive Director, coordinates and supports BRAC entities [1] on issues that have organisation-wide implications. BRAC Global aims to provide coherence and a coordinated approach to priorities and concerns shared across BRAC entities, including partnerships and fundraising, communications, risk management, people and culture, knowledge and learning, in close collaboration with BRAC entity leadership.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Senior Manager, Global Initiatives will provide high-level coordination and support to three executive committees that draw on resources and capacity across BRAC: Communications, Risk & Performance, and Partnerships. For instance, the Partnerships Committee works across entities to implement cross-entity fundraising priorities and grant management functions. The Communications Committee works to bring coherence and effectiveness to BRAC’s communication efforts, and greater global brand awareness for BRAC.
Apart from Committee-level work, the Senior Manager will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to advance special projects undertaken by the BRAC Global team, often at the request of the BRAC Executive Management Team, or the BRAC Global Board. The Senior Manager will manage an Officer, currently based in Nairobi, servicing the OneBRAC Communications and Risk & Performance Committees. Another position, Manager, Partnerships Committee, while not directly reporting to the Senior Manager, is expected to coordinate closely with her/him.
For Committees, the Senior Manager will coordinate and maintain a high-level view of the work of several projects. In the Communications Committee, for instance, these would include: 1) Developing a Unified Web Presence 2) Delivering a Global Communications Strategy 3) Crisis Response Protocols. The Senior Manager will support the Committees and Committee Chairs to apply processes, building on the experiences of the first committee, Partnerships, and leveraging learning and synergies. The Senior Manager will communicate delays, challenges or issues to Chairs proactively, and will keep the Chief Strategy Officer and the BRAC Global Team aware of all related workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Attend meetings in a support role to the Committee Chairs and oversee the coordination of follow-up actions by Committee members and the related Officers, in the implementation of the Committee Terms of Reference.
* Proactively manage next steps, in particular for Communications as well as Risk and Performance Committee projects, where the related Officer reports directly to the Senior Manager.
* Support Committee Chairs and BRAC Global to maintain action trackers and project sheets managing key projects of all Committees.
* Oversee the quality of documentation including meeting minutes and follow-ups generated by the Officers supporting the Committees.
* Regular meetings and coordination with Committee Officers to ensure cross-learning on how committees are performing and delivering outcomes, and to document best practices or challenges.
* Contribute to the development, and support the tracking, of Committee-related KPIs.
* Support Committee members with organising or coordinating representation at various events.
* Support the Committee Chairs to create and deliver presentations and strategy updates that communicate key workstream deliverables and recommendations, including to management or the BRAC Global Board.
* Compile quarterly Committee highlights for all Committees, to be included in the BRAC Global Board meeting materials and shared across Committees.
* Support BRAC Global Executive Director’s reporting on BRAC Global workplan priorities to the BRAC Global Board.
* Work with BRAC Global Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer and the Committee Chairs to identify operational challenges and ways forward on the identified projects, as well as articulate new needs or workstreams.
* Develop project documents: business cases, presentations, ToRs, strategy documents, guidelines for emerging workstreams or projects.
* Other duties as assigned by the Chairs of Committees.
Special Initiatives:
* The Senior Manager plays a critical role in advancing special projects or initiatives undertaken by the BRAC Global Team, and led by the Chief Strategy Officer or Executive Director. The Senior Manager also maintains oversight on documentation and follow-up related to speaking engagements of the BRAC Global Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer.Support the Chief Strategy Officer in documenting highlights from Executive Management Committee meetings.
* Oversee the internal and external Communications functions of the BRAC Global Team, through the work of the Officer, including post-engagement follow-ups, documentation, engagement on social media around events attended, etc.
* Develop project documentsfor special initiatives, as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager is expected to lead, motivate and directly supervise at least one staff, currently based in Nairobi. The role will supervise direct reports through establishing clear work plans, regular check-ins and professional development goals/plans for each direct report. The role will conduct an annual review process for each direct report, in line with BRAC Global’s process.
Academic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree, Project Management Certification or Master’s Degree (preferred).
Required Skills, Competencies & Knowledge:
* Ability to manage and prioritise across multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals and, within initiatives, the ability to identify challenges and gaps and signal/manage up effectively on these.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to distill complicated issues into clear outputs or recommendations.
* A self-starter, willing to take on leadership opportunities, able to navigate competing stakeholder interests, comfortable with ambiguity and complex systems.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and intellectual curiosity to delve into content, programmes and concepts.
* Enjoys working in matrix-teams and contributing to a team environment.
* Experience in utilising global systems and databases such as a CRM.
* Strong computer skills in Google and/or Microsoft platform.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the development sector in a coordination or support role, ideally with some time in communities and close to programming realities.
