Role/Responsibilities:
The Governance Service is responsible for a wide range of disciplines, but with the common aim of sound governance, great service and planning for the future.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person to cover the maternity leave of the Insurance and Business Support Officer, based in the Corporate Governance Team, starting in January 2025 for a minimum of nine months. The post is the lead for the Council’s Insurance function, providing insurance advice to officers and councillors, as well as providing some support to the Corporate Health & Safety Manager
The key responsibilities for the post include:
Managing the Council’s insurance programme including handling claims, maintaining policies and financial records and providing advice and training.
Assisting with the co-ordination of the Council’s risk management programme.
Assisting with Health and Safety processes and administration.
The person:
You will be a customer-focused team player with a positive and flexible approach, and excellent communication skills. It would be great if you had experience of working in an insurance or risk environment but its’s not essential as long as you have good analytical and problem solving skills. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative and the ability to cope with demanding workloads and timescales.
