Salary
£45,413 to £57,422 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.
The Senior Operations Manager (SOM) will champion Halls operational excellence including the development and delivery of consistent, high level customer service across the Halls of Residence in line with the University vision. You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining fit for purpose, functionally suitable, safe and legislatively compliant facilities and services ensuring value for money in support of university strategies that positively impact the staff, students and visitors. You will report directly to the Associate Director – Halls Operations.
The successful candidate will lead, manage and mentor the Hall Management teams to ensure development of the professional capabilities and can-do culture within the team and will be the management lead of all business systems for the department for example KX, BI portal and Nottingham hub. You will ensure smooth transition to new University systems such as Unicore and Planon. You will be expected to lead change, driving the business forward whilst motivating your teams.
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Halls Operations, you will assist on university strategy for student accommodation and staff engagement and will support and develop events for key stakeholders.
You will be required to prepare concise written reports and business cases for the Deputy Director of Estates & Facilities and will take an active role in challenging/identifying business efficiencies and effectiveness and to taking leadership of workgroups to put new processes and procedures identified into practice.
You will be involved in the implementation of the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) strategy of the university and will ensure action plans are drawn up and carried out with specific emphasis on Estates & Facilities Directorate key initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time post. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) to be worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged (mainly Monday to Friday) with flexibility to work weekends as required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
