Role Overview
As a Design Manager, you will oversee the engineering aspects of power generation projects, ensuring cost-effective designs and adherence to budgets. Reporting to the Head of Project and Design, your responsibilities will include:
* Producing detailed engineering design packs for mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
* Supporting the lifecycle of projects, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Battery Energy Storage, and emerging technologies.
* Managing design resources and ensuring designs meet safety-critical standards.
* Collaborating across teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Skills and Experience
* A degree in mechanical engineering with at least 2 years of experience in power generation, or an HND/C Level 3 qualification with 3 years of relevant experience.
* Strong knowledge in process engineering, electrical distribution, building services, pipework, ventilation design, and health & safety regulations (CDM).
* Proven success in managing engineering design teams and energy projects.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or equivalent software.
* A valid driving licence.
