South West based charitable housing association BCHA was founded over 50 years ago with a continuing mission to meet housing need and end homelessness. We aim to achieve this through the building and provision of affordable and secure homes, and by supporting individuals to take control and lead independent, fulfilled lives. Whether we are developing sites or supporting people with housing, learning or living skills, we believe in equality, the importance of every individual and the right to be valued and treated with dignity and respect. Our doors are open to everyone.
BCHA is excited to be part of the Ministry of Justice’s Private Law Pathfinder Project. This role will support the pathfinder project across Dorset, by providing an independent domestic abuse professional to complete DA assessment, including DASH risk assessment. To work in partnership with CAFCASS and Childrens Social Care to provide better outcomes in court. To support survivors of domestic abuse through the family court process.
The Domestic Abuse Community Team works with women and men in the community who have experienced or are still experiencing domestic abuse.
The Domestic Abuse Support Worker is responsible for providing and co-ordinating support to customers in order to enable them to address safety issues around domestic abuse, to access legal options, to address support needs, realise aspirations and move towards independent living and work.
We can offer you the opportunity to:
* work within a small professional team in a friendly and supportive environment;
* achieve real job satisfaction in a rewarding and challenging role;
* focus on building trusting relationships with our customers;
