As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of support services to Adults who are experiencing Homelessness and experiencing Domestic Abuse. Your primary focus will be to empower individuals with the tools and resources necessary for independent living and personal growth. Working within the BCHA Psychologically Informed Framework, you will lead a team of Support Workers and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the highest quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement customer-led support using trauma and psychologically informed approaches.
2. Provide information, advice, and support to adults facing mental health challenges.
3. Manage the support service and lead a team of Support Workers and other BCHA staff.
4. Establish strong working relationships with statutory and third-sector agencies.
5. Collaborate with Local Authority Housing Teams, Police, IDVA, Housing Benefit staff, DWP staff, Community Mental Health Teams, Social Services, and Offender Management services.
6. Respond flexibly to the service's requirements, which may include working outside core hours and on weekends to meet the needs of the role and services.
7. Prioritise the immediate safety needs of the customers and manage risk.
8. Enable customers to access funds and specific support services.
9. Engage customers in their own recovery and support planning.
10. Provide intensive personalised support and effective case management.
11. Support access to services including legal, mental health, sexual, domestic, drug & alcohol abuse.
12. Build professional working relationships - internally & externally.
13. Be a resilient, confident, calm, practical & pragmatic person.
14. Be self-motivated, proactive, assertive, empathic and non-judgemental.
15. Have good listening, questioning and written skills.
