An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our European Technical Centre, as an Engineer providing product compliance documentation for products sold on the European Market. A major part of the role will include monitoring EU Directives and regulations eg EMC, LVD, ATEX, PED, REACH, RoHS, MD for updates and changes, as well as the EU Official Journal and UK Government websites.
The role will involve working as part of the larger Team by collaborating with Engineers in other groups within ETC, European subsidiaries and Japan.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that all legislative requirements are met and product documentation such as Declarations of Conformity, Technical Files, Manuals etc, are kept complete and up to date. There will also be technical queries to respond to from our customers Part of the role will require training to become an internal auditor, carrying out internal audits under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
1. A degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering
2. An understanding of CE marking
3. Experience of technical report writing
4. The ability to occasionally travel to Europe
5. Some experience with standards or regulations
6. Good knowledge of Microsoft office
Desirable, but not essential:
7. Previous involvement with standards, regulations, directives etc
8. Working in a manufacturing company
9. Cooperation with test houses or notified bodies
10. Internal auditor experience
11. European or Japanese language skills
