Position Overview: My client, based in Ayr, Scotland, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join their finance team on a 5-month contract. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial planning and budgeting process. They are looking for candidates who are able to be on-site in Ayr or Kilmarnock 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting processes, taking a leading role in preparing and consolidating the annual budget.
2. Variance Analysis: Analyze budget submissions from entities against current financial performance, forecast outturn, and strategic goals/targets. Identify key drivers of variance and provide actionable insights to the Group.
3. Reporting: Support in the preparation of the financial budget reports and dashboards for management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
4. Strategic Support: Collaborate with the wider finance community to support strategic goals and ensure alignment with financial goals, including supporting the integration of acquired entities into the Group Reporting process.
5. Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency. Actively develop the dashboard/BI reporting to support financial and business performance analysis.
7. Ensure financial reporting is insightful, completed to a high degree of accuracy, and professionally presented.
Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience in FP&A, finance, or a related role.
2. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
3. Strong Excel skills essential (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH); VBA skills desirable.
4. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
