An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Principal Market Intelligence Analyst to join the Commissioning, Integration and Market Development function for Adult Social Care (ASC).We are looking for a dynamic and solution focussed Principal Market Intelligence Analyst who is a collaborative team player to develop, implement and manage the range of datasets, intelligence and information required to achieve our Business Plan, Integration and Commissioning objectives. They will be highly technically skilled as well as be able to understand the fundamentals of an issue and provide the evidence base and support for recommendations to address it.
There is significant emphasis on the Principal Market Intelligence Analyst being able to maximise the field and reporting functionality of the systems, tools and technologies that support flows of work within Adult Social Care and also integrated programmes of work with NHS/ health and other partners, in use of joined up data and intelligence to improve oversight of the local integrated care system (Joined Up Care Derbyshire).

In the role of Principal Market Intelligence Analyst, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
• Take the lead for Derby’s adult care market and associated population intelligence, in relation to the production and dissemination of appropriate data, analysis and reporting for statutory and strategic purposes;
• Provide a trusted and robust evidence base for key decision making and to inform strategic and operational direction – this will include contribution to strategy, care market procurement activities, cost-of-care modelling and cost benefit/avoidance, value for money, business cases, capacity and demand modelling, and budget forecasting taking into account demographics, needs and cost profiles;
• Identify and develop mechanisms that will continually improve utilisation of Council systems for automation therefore reducing risk and ineffectiveness of manual workarounds;
• Apply known and best practice data extraction, manipulation and translation and language tools effectively to produce accurate and informative, standardised and refreshable dashboards for various uses;
• Produce robust intelligence, data, contract, cost and service performance information to increase knowledge of and so facilitate better management and development of the local provider market;
• Proactively promote involvement and ensure market intelligence is represented in key improvement activities at the right time;
• Support operational colleagues to improve data quality and accuracy from the point of input to ensure market activity and spend reporting is robust;
• Line manage and develop the ASC Support Officer aligned to this role, ensuring oversight of broader adults commissioning and integration activities with health partners;
• Present data and information to various audiences that is clear and understandable.

The following essential technical requirements:
Excellent data and intelligence identification, sourcing, interpretation, manipulation, synthesizing, linking and analysis to be able to produce high level reports and dashboards for various purposes including to inform key decisions, strategic and operational direction, demand/supply management, value for money and cost avoidance/benefit, market oversight/management and statutory reporting.
Excellent communication of data and intelligence via written reports and presentations to a wide range of audiences with differing levels of understanding.
Proven ability in developing and implementing bespoke reporting mechanisms which includes writing formulas and queries, data manipulation and data set connectivity.
Demonstrable experience in data validation activity through data quality reviews and instigating improvement/change that ensure data accuracy for robust reporting.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, shared virtual platforms, business intelligence tools and programming languages.
The following essential person requirements:
Educated to degree level or can evidence equivalent practicable/applicable experience.
Is self motivated, can prioritise and work with minimal supervision and in collaboration with others.
Resilient working in a challenging environment and supportive of the immediate and wider team.
