We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Plumber Multi to join our dynamic regional team. This mobile role will require cover for our contracts in Southampton, Fareham, Portsmouth & the Isle of Wight; however, there may be the requirement to cover our contracts based in Wider Hampshire, Horsham, Woking & Windsor.

SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Regional Plumber Multi operative with a can-do attitude and flexible approach. They will carry out a mobile role and perform a wide variety of domestic and commercial plumbing repairs for local authorities (reactive and void works), education providers in occupied student accommodation, commercial buildings, lecture theatres, and offices, along with works in ancient monuments. The work will include fitting of various types of sanitary ware, first and second fixing pipework, various servicing of PPM, and reactive first-time fix repairs. There will also be work on unvented systems, as well as minor carpentry, tiling, and minor decorative works.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Diagnose and rectify faults within core and other trades related repair requests.
2. Ensure that the quality of work always meets the highest possible standards.
3. Support all trades to deliver a professional and safe maintenance and repairs service.
4. Respond swiftly to all emergency situations and resolve them efficiently.
5. Undertake all work efficiently and cost-effectively, minimising non-productive time wherever possible. Apply applicable Health & Safety rules in all you do, using risk assessments, method statements, and PPE when needed.
6. Be willing to work out of hours to the requirements of the client and participate on the call out rota.
7. Work within the Mountjoy group and assist other contracts as directed by the Contract Manager as and when the business dictates.
SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Comfortable in dealing with residents, tenants, and representatives while remaining professional even when issues are contentious, especially when explaining works to tenants.
2. Understand the need to complete outstanding pieces of work and deal with work completely and in one go.
3. Organised approach to meet the demands of Mountjoy and UoS in an effective and timely manner.
4. Practical approach to health and safety, ensuring that you and others are safe at all times.
5. Problem solver, able to determine what is a proportionate and necessary repair, learning from previous experiences.
6. Self-managing and self-motivated, prioritizing and programming work efficiently.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
1. Demonstrate you are a competent tradesperson and have the tools to do the work.
2. Have the prerequisite technical, statutory, and legislative knowledge for the trades you perform for the company, ensuring you keep abreast of updates and changes.
3. Knowledge of the materials and methods used in the building and maintenance industry.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
1. Trade specific qualification minimum NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Plumbing.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in Building Maintenance and Educational environment.
3. Must be competent in two other secondary skills.
4. Full current driving licence.
