About the Role
To act as a key business partner to the Venue General Manager (GM) and the wider management team by providing high-quality Management Information (MI) and supporting commercial finance and analytics. The role will also involve producing accurate management accounts in collaboration with the central transactional finance team, as well as overseeing forecasting, budgeting, and mentoring an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a dual site role with accountability for Hull Connexion Live and York Barbican venues

Your Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality MI and detailed commercial financial analysis to support decision-making.
2. Manage, mentor, and develop the Assistant Management Accountant, fostering a structured working environment.
3. Drive process and system improvements to enhance controls and efficiencies.
4. Actively contribute to Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings and collaborate with Department Heads on financial results and forecasts.
5. Prepare annual departmental budgets, monthly reforecasts, and monthly financial packs for business review.
6. Support the annual business planning process and assess the financial impact of new initiatives, especially in premium and hospitality products.
7. Oversee month-end processes, including journal preparation, event settlements, show night reports, and performance tracking.
8. Conduct ROI analysis for income-generating capital projects and manage audit preparation.
9. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of MI from EPOS and other systems, and provide insights into working capital management.
10. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and handle ad-hoc projects as directed by UK Finance Director and GM .
We are looking for someone with:
11. Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA, including relevant post qualification experience.
12. Experience of management of people.
13. Track record of implementation of processes and change management experience.
14. Good knowledge of processes, systems and control frameworks.
15. Advanced Excel skills including formulas and ideally macros.
16. Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
17. Resilience and able to work well under pressure and work reactively and proactively
18. Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
