We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join Thales (UWS) Under Water Systems Services Sector.
What the role has to offer:
1. Help shape and drive the strategy for the Service Sector - a rapidly growing part of the business, spearheaded by the Maritime Sensors Enhancement Team (M-SET) Project
2. Develop the strategy for products across a number of major projects
3. Working closely with new stakeholder across the support ecosystem, including customers, suppliers and the end users.

Our Opportunity
7. You will be responsible for shaping and driving the direction of UWS Services Sector, including MSET and other availability contracts, as well as developing new service models for our Royal Navy and export customers.
8. You will drive the sector working with the Sector Director, Projects and Functions to ensure that we provide the right enablement, assurance and support activities across all functions and operational capabilities in the business, thereby acting as the ‘Business glue’ to ensure a strong end to end delivery focus and achievement of Business Performance objectives.
9. You will lead by example, ensuring that the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our employees is our number 1 priority. You will support the UWS Operations Director in conducting Safety Tours of UWS sites and Work Areas and ensure our Supply Chain activities are in line with achievement of our On Time Delivery and associated business financial objectives.
10. You will manage the interface to UWS Operations and Centralised Service functions to maximise the support to Services Sector to ensure alignment with the achievement of our Business Goals and Delivery objectives and drive the related improvements.
About you
Ideally, you’ll:
11. Have a Naval background with significant experience within the Sensors and Sonars In-Service and Capability Development environment to ensure both the delivery of the projects within the sector and the development of the service offerings to meet emerging customer requirements.
12. Understand the Military Maritime operating environment and service delivery.
13. Have a track-record of driving performance and delivery and possess the skills to deliver through influence rather than authority
14. Enjoy and thrive on developing and performing through teamwork, not just within Thales but also with customers and suppliers.
15. Have the ability to question / challenge established processes and offer innovative alternatives.
16. Possess excellent attention to detail skills, particularly in investigating problems, and take pride in producing accurate work.
17. Have experience working in multi-disciplined team environments (suppliers, customers, internal stakeholders).
18. Possess excellent technical observational and communications skills.
