Job summary This is an engaging and dynamic role that demands outstanding administrative and coordination skills to facilitate the implementation of the Lung Health Check (LHC) programme for patients in Berkshire and the surrounding areas. The primary aim of the Lung Health Check (LHC) Programme is to promote the early detection of lung cancer to save lives. Royal Berkshire Hospital and the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance have pinpointed areas within Berkshire with high disease and smoking rates, where significant progress can be made by identifying early-stage lung cancer. The objective is to implement various interventions aimed at reducing lung cancer rates, enhancing the stage of diagnosis, and improving one-year survival rates. The LHC administrator will assist the programme/project manager in establishing and executing the programme, following the framework set by the LHC National Programme and National Protocol. The successful candidate will join the Respiratory Medicine team, collaborating closely with the LHC programme manager, nursing staff, and COPD community colleagues to foster partnerships with GP practices and external support organizations. This is a fixed-term position and will be part of the National Lung Health Checks Programme, which is a vital component of early cancer diagnosis and aligns with the NHS Long Term Plan. Main duties of the job We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the Lung Health Check Programme, working within the CAT 11 team which supports Cardiology, Respiratory and Stroke Medicine. You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast paced environment and have excellent IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure. You will be responsible and accountable for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users.
