Job summary Applications are invited for a part time Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (2.5PAs), based within our Department of Prosthodontics, to start at the earliest opportunity. This is a substantive post to support direct patient care, predominantly via clinical supervision (both surgical and non-surgical). The emphasis however will be on the planning and provision of complex restorative surgical procedures. The role will also involve elements of didactic teaching and training of specialty trainees in Restorative Dentistry and its Mono-specialties. The post is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals, part of the Specialist Hospitals Board of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Successful applicants will join a well-established team in providing a wide range of Prosthodontics and restorative services, postgraduate training and possibly research. Applicants will be expected to have extensive surgical experience within this field, excellent communication and leadership skills, evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams, along with considerable and demonstrable experience in postgraduate level teaching, training, and clinical supervision (both surgical and non-surgical). They will be expected to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry as a whole, with a specific interest and demonstrable experience in implantology (including highly complex surgical and prosthodontic elements) as well as both conventional and adhesive treatment and management of multidisciplinary cases. The post-holder will also be expected to be dynamic, approachable and have considerable experience and enthusiasm for teaching and training. They will play a key role in the clinical supervision & training of specialist trainees and postgraduates. They should demonstrate evidence of both team working and leadership skills, as well as having excellent communication skills and drive for service development.
