As an After School Play Worker, you will be working directly with disabled children, or young people and their families, to support them with their needs. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the team under the guidance of the team leader to create a positive, engaging environment that children and young people enjoy attending. Assist and supervise children and young people in accessing a diverse range of safe, stimulating activities that are suited to their age and abilities, whether on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. Support and empower children and young people to participate in activities of their choice. Ensure the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child/young person are met in a manner that is sensitive to their religious, cultural, linguistic, and ethnic background. Utilise various communication methods to effectively interact with all children and young people, respecting their individual communication styles. Provide physical and personal care with sensitivity as needed. Communicate regularly with the Team Leader and staff regarding any changes or concerns related to individual children and young people. Contribute to session reports for children and young people using the service. Follow all individual and venue risk assessment guidelines. Stay informed of any updates to children and young people’s care plans.
