Applicants should be able to supervise the organisation of activities at lunchtime which engage the children and are enjoyable.You should describe your suitability against the person specification and ensure that you cover all essential criteria (if not marked as essential, please assume all are essential), by providing evidence and examples of proven experience. You will:Hold an appropriate NVQ3 qualification or equivalent (essential)*Have experience of working with children (essential) Have a knowledge of playground games and suitable activities for children during wet playtimesHold a current first aid qualificationHold a current food hygiene qualification Qualities and AttributesThe qualities and skills to lead a team of midday supervisors under the direction of the PrincipalThe ability to adhere to and promote the school’s behaviour policy and to ensure staff are following proceduresTo be able to model an assertive and respectful way in talking and dealing with childrenAble to give advice to the rest of the team for dealing with minor incidents, and to report any more serious incidents to the Principal immediately.To have the ability to use your initiative but seek advice and help when required To have a caring natureTo have the skills to listen to a child, be non-judgemental whilst also being firm and fair.
