Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile P. E teacher who can also provide general cover for core subjects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about physical education and have the flexibility to support the teaching of subjects such as English, Maths, and Science when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging P. E lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Organise and oversee extracurricular sports activities and events.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Providing cover for core subjects, delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring continuity of learning.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during physical activities and classroom lessons.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Degree in Physical Education or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for physical education and core subjects.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
* Flexibility and adaptability to teach a range of subjects.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Sports Experience:
* Experience of coaching or playing a variety of sports, such as football, basketball, athletics, and swimming.
* Proven track record of organising and leading successful sports teams or clubs.
* The ability to introduce and teach new sports and physical activities to students.
