Technical Programme Manager - Infrastructure
About the role
As a Technical Programme Manager, you will deliver both simple and complex, cross-functional technology programmes that support colleagues and help serve our customers better. You will work collaboratively, influence Product, Engineering, and business colleagues, and lead the programme to deliver value quickly and often. You have strong delivery assurance capabilities in ensuring the appropriate approach for each project.
You will be responsible for:
1. Create and track a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across Tesco are kept up-to-date.
2. Understand trade-offs in software delivery using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution.
3. Foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion, and manage escalations.
4. Understand technical architecture to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines, and implementation plans.
5. Have good knowledge of engineering best practices and practical infrastructure implementations to appreciate delivery challenges.
6. Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to define annual budgetary requirements.
7. Build positive relationships with stakeholders to deliver software or professional services, holding them accountable on delivery and improvement plans.
8. Contribute actively to the TPM community.
You will need:
* A proven record of accomplishment in delivering technology programmes across a multitude of infrastructure technologies.
* Business Analysis skills to ensure the scoping of work and the initiation of projects is clear and well documented.
* Experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving demonstrating resolution independence.
* Finance and Procurement experience ensuring delivery approach is clear.
* Core Technology fundamentals in infrastructure with SDLC and ITSM training.
* Key understanding of when to use appropriate Programme Methodologies.
* Managing Risk within projects and programmes.
* Delivering Programme Governance at senior levels.
* Good reporting skills for programmes and financial forecasting.
* Product Methodologies.
* Retail Technology Awareness.
* Development Life-cycle.
* Excellent JIRA / Confluence skills to manage programmes of work.
* Strong project delivery assurance experience.
