The Project
As an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be overseeing a key role as part of the commercial team on a diverse range of projects including retail, shopfitting, groundworks and commercial decorating. You will be supporting and overseeing all aspects of cost management, from initial client discussions to project completion to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
Full UK driving licenseIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;
Experience in groundworks (not essential but desirable)
History of operating in retail and shopfitting (not essential but desired)
Extensive background within the industry, working for a leading commercial construction company
Extensive experience of working in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor position, holding a minimum of 3 years' experience
Previous experience working on projects within the retail, shopfitting, groundworks and commercial decorating sector in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or comparable positionAdditional skills;

Preparing material reconciliations
Monthly stock taking for valuations
Measurement and valuation of works
Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets
Assisting in the development of risk mitigation strategies
Assisting in preparation of financial reports and valuations
Communicating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Assisting the Quantity Surveyor with subcontract payments
Assist in preparing tender documentation for upcoming projects
Evaluating and comparing tender submissions from contractors
Assist with site visits and surveys across the country as needed
Contributing to the development and monitoring of project budgets
Identifying and assessing potential risks related to cost and contracts
Measurement and valuation of sub-contractors work for payment and final account
Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor to establish internal pricing structures for the company
Track and oversee project costs, ensuring effective cost management and staying within budget
Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the seamless execution of the project
Assist with conducting detailed onsite measurements and performing surveying activities to support project accuracy and planning
Analysing and evaluating project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs
Support the commercial team in creating detailed client quotations by assisting with the preparation and organisation of necessary materials and informationThis is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
