ABOUT THE ROLE
The Fashion Features Writer will be responsible for producing engaging and authoritative fashion and culture stories for all ELLE platforms, from quick hit news and roundups to longer form features and profiles. They will be an important ambassador for the ELLE brand, representing the magazine at industry events and maintaining an extensive network of industry contacts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the Fashion Features Director to produce a steady stream of high-quality features for ELLE UK, delivering clean, sparkling and authoritative copy to tight deadlines
2. Ideate, pitch, research and write a range of fashion-focused and fashion-adjacent culture features for use across print and digital, including profiles, roundups, opinion pieces and reported stories
3. Work closely with the Community Director, regularly contributing exclusive content to ELLE COLLECTIVE, ELLE UK’s membership initiative
4. Collaborate with other departments on features and fashion stories as needed; contribute in whatever way required to the digital offering
5. Keep abreast of new releases, developments and trends across fashion and culture (including film, music, art and books)
6. Manage features invoicing and administrative tasks
7. Attend production and editorial meetings as required
8. Support with and attend reader events as required (these may be evening events)
9. Read and monitor other fashion and culture media titles across print and digital
10. Be an ambassador for ELLE UK and its values, representing the magazine at industry events
11. You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time
ABOUT YOU
12. Proven writing experience, with an ability to produce clean, accurate copy
13. Strong fashion knowledge and good contacts within the industry
14. Excellent cultural awareness
15. Experience interviewing high-profile talent
16. Meticulous and hyper-organised, with good time management skills
17. Excellent inter-personal skills
18. Ability to use and act upon own initiative
19. Ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects, and deal with challenges calmy and efficiently
20. Must have a strong interest in ELLE and good understanding of the ELLE readership
