OCU Modus (part of the OCU Group of Companies) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with electrical experience to be based in the Aylesbury Area. The role of the Project Manager is to assist the Company Director in meeting the expectations & requirements of our customers and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Your role will also require you to understand the contractual issues specific to the projects employed on.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Review all contracts/projects to ensure that the Company and clients requirements and expectations are fully identified, agreed and understood.
* Understand the construction programme, key dates and milestones, and resource requirements for individual projects/contracts.
* Organise works for the teams reporting on a daily basis to ensure the Company and clients requirements are met.
* Comply with the requirements of the company Integrated Management System regarding Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality.
* Promote Company policies and objectives throughout the organisation to increase awareness, motivation, and involvement.
* Assist the Contract Manager in achieving Company and client targets and objectives for Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality.
* Report to the Contract Manager project/contract performance, particularly regarding Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality.
* Investigate and report all accidents as required under RIDDOR and as per company procedures.
* Investigate and report all utility damages and third-party claims as per Company procedures.
* Generate Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and CDM Plans with assistance from the Head of SHEQ.
* Conduct regular site inspections and take action to ensure all sites comply with current legislation.
* Conduct joint site inspections with the client as requested.
* Arrange Tool Box Talks.
* Raise company awareness regarding Health and Safety issues.
* Maintain accurate site diary and records as required under the project/contract.
* Complete accurate timesheets and submit them in accordance with company procedures.
* Order plant and materials and record on a weekly basis in accordance with company procedures.
* Ensure all plant and equipment used on site is fit for use with relevant test certificates.
* Maintain effective internal communications.
* Take corrective and preventative action to minimise customer dissatisfaction and promote continual improvement.
Skills and Experience
* Applicants should demonstrate knowledge or skills in the following areas:
o Health and Safety.
o Environmental Awareness.
o Safe Excavation – Including use of CAT and Genny.
o Manual Handling.
o HAV.
o Risk Assessments.
o COSHH.
* Essentials:
o Construction Project Management.
o SHEQ experience/exposure.
* Preferable:
o Programming/Planning experience.
o Commercial experience exposure.
o Streetworks experience.
o Utilities experience specifically in Electrical/Civil construction work.
