Our client, a rapidly scaling, product-led business services company with an impressive client retention rate, is seeking a versatile and dynamic CFO/COO. This role requires a deep understanding of both operations and finance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The CFO/COO will collaborate with the CEO and various departments to capitalize on growth opportunities, including large cross-functional projects and international ventures. A key responsibility will be to ensure each function can make better decisions using relevant data.
Responsibilities
1. Building out organisational structure, systems, and infrastructure to deliver 10x growth in 3 years.
2. Diving performance culture throughout the organisation, where teams and individuals are accountable, work to a high standard of executional excellence, and identify and remove wasteful processes.
3. Oversee and ensure accuracy in revenue tracking, ensuring alignment with business operations.
4. Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
5. Develop and refine pricing strategies for various products, optimizing for profitability and market competitiveness.
6. Act as a strategic partner, providing financial insights to support commercial decision making.
7. Design and implement financial and operational processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, to support a scaling business.
8. Analyse financial and operational data to provide timely and accurate reports.
9. Create integrated reporting systems that provide real-time insights into operational and financial metrics.
10. Manage capital structure and working capital, including debt and equity financing.
11. Oversee funding efforts and investor relations.
12. Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
13. Regularly review all major commercial contracts to ensure favorable terms.
Experience/Skills
1. Formal accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Proven experience in F, P and A, business strategy, and operations.
3. Fundraising experience, ideally Series A / B.
4. Able to make sound commercial decisions and contribute to the business’s strategic direction.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various business functions.
6. Previous experience working in an early stage, rapidly growing business. Experience working in a high volume manufacturing, physical operations business would be advantageous.
