Job Specification: Operations Engineer - UK Biogas

Role Overview:
As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the performance of field operation and maintenance duties across several assets, facilities, and plants within your assigned area. Acting as a technical and local point of contact for gas suppliers and customers, you will ensure installations are maintained in excellent condition while adhering to regulatory safety and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain sites and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Support contractors on-site, ensuring safe interventions using permits and LOTO procedures.
Apply regulatory safety rules across all responsible sites.
Identify and raise awareness of unsafe situations.
Support root cause analysis of safety incidents.
Review and manage Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
Coordinate and manage site emergency procedures, including waste paperwork and COSHH documentation.
Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments.
Maintain comprehensive records of all interventions on installations, producing detailed reports.
Oversee the updating of "As Built" documentation in line with issued MOCs.
Perform routine checks on installations.
Manage on-site part usage and stock control.
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
Experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferably Compex certified).
A valid UK Driving License.
Knowledge of gas systems (CNG, Biogas) and instrumentation/gas analysis.
Familiarity with P&FD, P&ID, electrical diagrams, and functional analysis.
Experience in writing technical reports and procedures.
Competency in managing safety and conducting risk assessments.
Right to work in the UK.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary based on experience (starting at £43,000).
Call-out allowance: £460 per week.
Annual car allowance: £7,200.
