We are excited to be advertising for Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner, with the specific remit of providing CBT in their role.
We are keen to hear from professionals interested in supporting our new pathway model. There are opportunities available in beautiful North Devon, working with those young people struggling with mood, emotions, and relationships. You will work with our dedicated teams with ongoing training and supervision.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner specialising in CBT, your role is crucial in providing comprehensive and specialised CBT support to children and young people. Your main duties encompass a range of responsibilities, including expert assessment, formulation, and evidence based treatment for young people with complex mental health difficulties.
You will contribute to the multi-disciplinary approach of the team provided integrated healthcare across CFHD. You will support service development and improvement, participating in team meetings, engaging in development opportunities, and staying up to date with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health. By maintaining accurate and confidential records, adhering to safeguarding protocols, and prioritising the well-being of children and young people, you will make a significant impact in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of mental health services in children's NHS settings.
You will contribute to the continuous development on CBT provision on the service.
You will conduct thorough mental health assessments, using a person-centered approach to understand the unique needs of each child. With this understanding, you will develop tailored care plans and implement evidence-based interventions to address their mental health concerns and promote their overall well-being.

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework, in response to consultation with our service users and communities.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.

Information regarding the Managing Mood, Emotions and Relationships Pathway:
In this pathway, Senior Mental Health Practitioners work within a strong multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments and therapy to children with severe, chronic and enduring mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety-based disorders and Trauma.
You would work with children, young people and families to understand their experiences and presenting concerns in order to provide an appropriate evidence-based intervention and work closely with other agencies to support the best outcomes.

Qualifications
Essential
1. A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent Psychological profession, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
2. Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body, NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP
Desirable
3. Recognised qualification in evidenced based therapeutic, mental health interventions for children/young people and their families/carers
4. Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism
5. Clinical Supervision qualification
Experience
Essential
6. Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of complex mental health presentations.
7. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
8. Experience of delivering model based psychological therapy

9. Participation in user involvement in services.
10. Mentoring students in line with professional requirements
