Together with our client we are looking to an Operations Manager for their site based in Cambridge,
To manage operational processes to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse to the point of delivery. Maintain focus on lean principles to ensure they remain an efficient, low cost operator.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
Develop annual warehouse budget for discussion with senior management
Ensure that warehouse operational costs are maintained within budget
Provide regular and ad hoc operational reports as requested.
Leadership
Recruit, induct, train, and retain staff of the required number and calibre
Continuously assess warehouse staff against indentified performance criteria and address issues of performance and conduct within the branch
Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed.
Operational efficiency
Maintain inventory in line with budget
Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and the clients EHS and transport policy
Manage workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and the clients EHS policy
Manage EHS performance to minimise KPI’s and in line with business EHS performance targets
Manage, support and coach key operational staff
Customer service
Ensure all staff focus on the customer and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities
Instil a customer service ethic throughout the branch and ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently.
Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.
Ensure that there is an active interface between operations, telesales and sales.
