Job Overview
A vacancy has arisen for a Multi Trade Craftsperson at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Working for the Operations and Maintenance Division, as part of a multi-discipline team providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance to Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Observe current health & safety and hospital guidelines in maintaining own and other health, safety and security including infection control. Completing risk assessments for all work-related activities.
2. Use and be competent in the uses of all relevant hand and power tools & equipment.
3. Plan own workload and complete work issued by supervisors.
4. Ensure a safe working environment, protecting all employees, staff, and members of the public at all times.
5. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on various equipment, dealing with competing work priorities, and recording the results and outcomes of inspections, tests, and repairs.
6. Undertake types of work which may previously have been carried out by other trade groups including ceiling tile replacement, replacement of WC seats, replacement of filters, grille cleaning, and routine checks.
7. Assist contractors by giving guidance as to the location of a problem.
8. Effectively communicate with supervisors and other department managers and staff.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Advance Craft City & Guilds in Bricklaying, Plastering or equivalent which has been studied for whilst completing a recognised apprenticeship (between 3 & 5 years) and a broad, post apprenticeship experience (ideally 5 years) of work undertaken by Bricklaying / Plastering craftsmen.
* Engineering / Building based NVQ level 2 / 3 qualification, outside of core trade, which allows the post holder to work in a multi-skilled way. Those entering the service without these qualifications will need to complete relevant training within 12 months.
Other Requirements
* Clean full driving licence for private light goods vehicle.
