With a passion for wildlife and access, you’ll enjoy working with nature and want to inspire and motivate others. You’ll help to make a range of important habitats for wildlife even better for nature and make everyone feel welcome at our places.
This project is funded by the Nature Networks Programme. It is being delivered by the Heritage Fund, on behalf of the Welsh Government.
What it's like
You’ll join an upbeat and dynamic team, who are passionate about nature, and creating an inclusive and progressive place to work, visit and volunteer.
You’ll play a key role in the Bannau Brycheiniog portfolio which covers a large area in south Wales stretching from Rhaeadr in mid Wales to Gower on the south Coast.
This role is based in our estate office in Libanus and you will cover a range of sites across the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
What you'll be doing
As Project Ecologist, you’ll be responsible for surveying and recording the environmental conditions of the project sites and tracking the changes as they happen as a result of the project's work. Using your expertise in habitat surveying, mapping skills, and habitat assessments you'll help others understand the biological significance of our land. You will be working with the local team, national specialists and our NRW and Bannau Brycheiniog National Park colleagues.
You’ll actively work with our national specialists to ensure changes to the project sites are recorded on a national database. You’ll also work with external contractors, farmers, colleges, schools, volunteers and communities from across the South Wales area and inspire people to be involved in the Trust's exciting strategy ‘People and Nature, Thriving’.
