As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping children with autism, sensory processing difficulties, and other additional needs, providing them with the support and guidance necessary to engage fully with their learning journey. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with autism, sensory processing difficulties, and other additional needs, helping them to engage in their learning and develop essential life skills. Assist in implementing individualised learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to meet each child’s specific needs and learning goals. Offer emotional and behavioural support to help children regulate their emotions and engage positively with their peers and learning activities. Work closely with the wider support team, including therapists and specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development. Assist with personal care needs where required, promoting independence while ensuring the safety and well-being of the children. S upport in adapting the curriculum and resources to suit the learning styles and abilities of the children, ensuring they can access education in a meaningful way. Requirements: Experience in working with children with autism, learning difficulties, or other SEN Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude to supporting children with a range of emotional, social, and academic challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, with a focus on collaboration and continuous learning. At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority.
