Job Description: Civil Quantity Surveyor Location: Essex Salary Range: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking dynamic and detail-oriented Civils Quantity Surveyor of all levels (Junior, Intermediate, and Senior) to join our growing team based in Upminster. Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for civil engineering projects. Provide cost analysis and financial advice to project stakeholders. Contract Administration: Manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve optimal outcomes. Measurement and Valuation: Perform detailed measurement and valuation of work completed on-site, ensuring accurate documentation. Prepare interim and final payment applications. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in cost and delivery, implementing mitigation strategies where required. Monitor project costs against budgets and address any deviations. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals. Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management. Requirements Junior Quantity Surveyor: Preferable degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management). Minimum 1 year experience in similar role and same sector. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Intermediate Quantity Surveyor: 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering sector. Proficiency in contract management software and tools (e.g., NEC, JCT). Solid understanding of construction methods and materials. Senior Quantity Surveyor: 5 years of experience with proven expertise in managing complex projects.
