A bit about the role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated therapeutic residential worker to join our team in supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. In this role will provide direct support to our children/young people helping them manage their emotional and behavioural difficulties through structured routines and therapeutic interventions to address the unique needs of each child. Fostering a sense of community is essential, as you will facilitate social interactions and encourage positive peer relationships amongst the children in our care. It will support them in engaging in their daily activities and outings will promote their life skills and independence. It is crucial to maintain a safe and answering environment that encourages personal growth and emotional stability. We're looking for a candidate with experience in working with children and young people with EBD or similar backgrounds strong communication interpersonal skills the genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people. About the service Our service offers a warm and welcoming homely environment, supporting 3-4 children in a family style setting. We specialise in helping children 7-18 years who have experience complex trauma. Our spacious and homely atmosphere allows every child to feel like they are part of the family. Children can enjoy watching TV, playing DVDs and using games consoles, creating opportunities for relaxation and socialising with friends. We focus on providing a supportive space where children can engage in their passions and build meaningful connections. How you'll help to create brighter futures Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Experience of working with children and young people. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
