We are seeking a Tanker Driver to work across our region in the vital role of helping to transport sewage sludge to treatment centres.
This is a day shift only based role, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
You will primarily be driving one of our hook loader vehicles, whilst also providing cover on our tanker vehicles.
What you'll do
Our 400 water recycling centres (sewage treatment works) and 2,000 sewage pumping stations treat 888 million litres every day - one of the byproducts is sewage sludge.
As one of our Tanker Drivers working across our region, you will be transporting sewage sludge to ensure its safe and timely delivery to and from sites. Full vehicle training and ongoing guidance is provided.
Your role will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and keep costs low by ensuring the product is collected from the correct place and on schedule.
You may also be involved in emergency driving in the event of breakdowns.
What you'll need
For this role you will need:
* Class 1 driving licence (Class 2 will also be considered)
* To be qualified in, or working towards, Drivers CPC
* Excellent knowledge of VOSA regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
* Health and safety, and field practice awareness
* Experience with Hook Loader vehicles & vacuum/pressure tankers or similar equipment is advantageous
* The ability to work unsupervised, as lone working is part of this role
* Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
You should also have a strong geographical knowledge of the area.
